AUD/JPY opens 50 pips lower on hung parliament

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - An inconclusive Australian election is leaving investor’s nervous Monday, as top parties begin to court independents in an effort to win majority. With political uncertainty expected to drag on for days, analysts are seeing strong bearish pressure for the Aussie financial markets until a firm solution is found.

The AUD/JPY opened the week around 76.00 due to the developments, nearly 50 pips under Friday’s close. At time of writing the pair trades at 76.04 after bouncing from firm support in 75.90.

With further pressure to the downside expected as high risk aversion favors the yen, immediate support is listed at 75.91 and 75.72. To the upside, resistance is placed at 76.10 and 76.25.
